I see music as a vehicle for tapping into the tender, vulnerable, and powerful places in our body, community, and world.
As a therapist, combining music therapy with psychotherapy, my goal is to help clients discover and develop their strengths even as they come to better understand and appreciate their vulnerabilities.
As a keynote speaker or workshop facilitator at conferences, I can speak to a wide variety of topics that relate to health, healing, and community. Presentations can include spoken word, music performance, workshops, and/or music participatory experiences.
As a musician, I find music holds the place for infinite possibilities!!

More Than a Song: Exploring the Healing Art of Music Therapy uses vignettes from Barbara's clinical practice to explore tender and inspirational moments made possible through music.

New Project
COMMON SOUNDS I have teamed up with Samantha Sinai, MM, MT-BC in facilitating events using music as a tool for bridge-building between groups of people that may not otherwise come into contact with each other. This work draws upon my doctoral work in Transforming Conflict with Music, and Conflict Transformation, and Music Therapy.
Music invites us to drop in
to a more creative place in which we can dream of solutions to complex problems, and connect more fully with one another. |
